Web design

Bespoke web design for your business.

I design bespoke websites and redesigns for freelancers and businesses, whether it is your first website or it is time to renew the one you have. I define the structure, the messages and the path to contact with you, and turn it into a responsive, fast website consistent with your brand. You work directly with me, with scope and budget fixed in writing before we start.

What is included

What does the design of your website include?

  • Architecture and messaging

We decide which pages your website needs and what each one has to say.

Sitemap and content hierarchy for each page, with the main paths to contact, booking or purchase. It is defined before the visual design, in wireframes, to validate the structure without distractions.

  • Bespoke visual system

A design made for your brand, not a template that others use too.

Typefaces, palette, spacing and reusable components (buttons, cards, forms and navigation) defined as a system and validated first in a prototype. It is what lets the website grow later without losing consistency.

  • Content and calls to action

I help you explain what you offer and make sure whoever arrives knows what to do: message you, book or buy.

A page-by-page guide: what is said, in what order and with which call to action. It includes the form states (validation, error and successful submission) and the supporting copy that answers questions before contact.

  • Responsive visual build

It looks and works well on mobile, tablet and computer.

Layout in HTML, CSS and JavaScript adapted to mobile, tablet and desktop. Images optimised at several resolutions, with high-density (Retina) versions when they add real sharpness.

  • Quality and delivery

Before publishing I check that it loads well, that the forms work and that you can edit it yourself.

Review before publishing: loading of images and fonts, keyboard navigation, contrast, forms and behaviour in different browsers and devices. Basic technical SEO (titles, metadata and indexing) and editable content, according to the agreed scope.

  • Ready for campaigns

If you are going to advertise, I prepare pages designed for one specific offer and a simple way to get in touch.

Landing pages focused on a single offer, with the message aligned with the ad and direct contact by form or WhatsApp. Conversion tracking is set up when it is part of the scope.

The proposal sets out in writing which pages and which features are included.

The structure and the prototype are validated first; then it is developed with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, or on WordPress when you need to edit content often.

Before / after

Same brand. Another league.

A real redesign: Ocean World Expeditions, at the same point of the page.

Clearer hierarchy, visible booking actions and responsive navigation.

Google review: 5 out of 5 stars.Website redesign

The redesign had a challenge: showcase the expeditions without burying trip information among photographs. You can now explore each trip, understand what it involves and get in touch with a clear idea of what to expect. That was what Ocean World needed.

How I work

Five steps, with one person on the other side.

  1. Understand the starting point

We clarify the need, the offer and the priorities.

  2. Define scope and proposal

We agree the content of the project, the order of work and the budget before we start.

  3. Shape content and structure

We build messages, sections and paths so the website is understood.

  4. Design, build and review

Design and development move forward together, and you review each milestone.

  5. Launch and leave it ready

The website is published with the agreed technical and SEO foundation, and I explain how to manage it.

FAQ

Questions about web design.

Price, timings, content and what happens afterwards: what people usually ask me before we start a website.

How much does it cost to build a website?

It depends on the scope: number of pages, whether there is a shop, integrations and content. Before we start, you receive a fixed quote, and any change of scope is agreed in writing.

How long does it take?

It depends on the scope and on having the copy, images and logins ready. Dates and milestones are set out in writing in the proposal before we start.

How is it paid?

Normally, 50% on accepting the quote and the remaining 50% once the website has been delivered.

Who owns the website once it is finished?

You do: once it is paid for, the website is yours.

What do you need to prepare the quote?

Your goal, the current website if there is one, the audience you are addressing, the sections or features you need and any important date. If something is not clear yet, I help you define it before fixing scope and price.

Do I need to have the copy and photos ready?

Not necessarily. I help you organise the message, define what content each page needs and spot the visual material that is missing. Copywriting, photography, video or translation are included only when they appear in the proposal.

Do you use templates?

No. The design is made to measure for your brand: typography, colours and components are defined for your project, without relying on a generic template.

Can I see the design before it is developed?

Yes. The structure and the prototype are validated first, and you review each milestone. Development starts once you have given your approval.

Will it look good on mobile?

Yes. It is designed for mobile, tablet and desktop, and reviewed in different browsers and devices before publishing.

Will I be able to edit the website myself?

Yes. The website is delivered editable and I explain how to manage it. If you are going to change content often, it is built on WordPress so you can do it without touching code.

Do you take care of the domain, hosting and email?

Yes, I can set them up for you. Exactly what is included is stated in the proposal.

Can you redesign a website that already exists?

Yes. I review goals, content, user experience, technical foundation and SEO before proposing priorities. Sometimes it is better to improve the current website; at other times, rebuilding it avoids carrying over old limitations.

Will the website be ready for Google and for ChatGPT?

It is delivered with the agreed technical foundation: useful, crawlable content, clear hierarchy, metadata, internal links, performance and structured data. That improves the chances of appearing in Google and of assistants such as ChatGPT understanding your business, but nobody can guarantee rankings or citations.

Who do I talk to during the project?

Me, from start to finish. There are no intermediaries: the person who designs and develops the website is the one who answers you.

What happens after it goes live?

The website is delivered editable and I explain how to manage it. Maintenance, support or later improvements can be agreed separately.

Tell me what website you need.

Send me your current website or your idea on WhatsApp. I review it personally and reply with a specific recommendation and the next step.
